The Book of Absences

(30 x 20 x 2 cm) 
​Handmade book comprising of a sequence of 22 plates, in order of increasing erosion and disappearance. 

Printed on two sides of paper and bound so that the protruding back of one plate nestles into the hollow front of the next. The book plays with positive and negative impressions, the play of light as the page turns. This imposes an order, a logical structure, on the accidental erosions in the etching process.
