Jerusalem Dreams
The Jerusalem Dreams installation consists of a bed, covered by a white sheet. One this sheet is embroidered William Blake’s/ Sir Hubert Parry’s Jerusalem interweaved with 'Next Year in Jerusalem' L’shana haba b’yerusalyim. Beneath the embroidered sheet is a form, constructed to resemble both landscape contours and the curves of a sleeping woman.. The Blake/Parry Jerusalem is embroidered in green thread running through it. The L’shana haba b’yerusalyim is done in blue and gold thread.
Jerusalem Dreams is part of the Balfour at 100 Exhibition at the Jerusalem Biennale in 2017. Curated by the Jerusalem Biennale founder Rami Ozeri. |
